I was diagnosed as shortsighted at the age of 7 and inexplicably felt deeply ashamed. In those days there was nO choice but those horrid pink NHS specs and was far to embarrassed to wear them. So I didn’t.

How much I missed out in those days, and that took away a lot of my confidence. Thank goodness people design specs now that kids want to wear because they actually look good.
